Studies on Knowledge of Communicable Diseases in Communities

Abstract
We picked up 100 persons(male 56, female 44) freely out of the citizens Susan and, after examination of the necessary items; conception of infectious diseases, preventive inoculation, and attitude towards epidemics prevailing, came to conclusion as follows
1. Great part of them had a clear idea of infectionous diseases.
2. Approximately 30 % of them had been infected with diseases : the largest number infected had suffered from typhoid and the next largest from dysentery.
3. Approximately 90 % of sick persons consulted doctors, or reported themselves to the Health Centers or to City Authorities.
4. Most of them were found to have taken such suitable steps as preventive inoculation, the use of insecticide indoors, and disinfection of house against diseases.
5. Preventive inoculations against disease were given at or in the Health Centers, streetcorners, hospitals and physicians offices. The commonest inoculation was cholera and typhoid the next.
The end of preventive inoculation had been learned well and properly by most of them, but some were found to avoid vaccinations on the ground of their strong reaction or unbearable pains as and after injection given.
We hope that these undesirable facts above stated will be got rid of in near future through newly development and discovery of vaccinations showing slight reaction.
6. Most people made it their customs to send the patients infected with diseases to the hospitals or to report to the nearby Health Centers when a member of their families suffered.
7. Preventive injection of their children would be given at schools or in information office(Free-advice office) for child attached hospitals or Health Centers.
8. When epidemics break out in their neighborhood, quick steps against them such as notification to the near by Health Center, authorities concerned, or strict performance of boiling eatables would be taken.
9. It seemed that they paid a great intention to disinfection of mess kits and wholesome, food free from filth.
